Accepted Payment Methods

ClawHosters accepts payments through two providers: Stripe for card payments and Coinbase Commerce for cryptocurrency.

Credit and Debit Cards (Stripe)

Stripe handles all card-based payments. You can use Visa, Mastercard, and other major card brands. All card transactions are processed in EUR.

Stripe is used for:

• Claws purchases — One-time top-ups to buy Claws packages
• Monthly subscriptions — Recurring charges for subscription-billed instances

When you make a card payment, you are redirected to a Stripe Checkout page. Card details are entered directly on Stripe's hosted page — ClawHosters never sees or stores your card number.

Cryptocurrency (Coinbase Commerce)

Coinbase Commerce is available for one-time Claws purchases. It supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies accepted by Coinbase.

Crypto payments cannot be used for monthly subscriptions. Only Claws packages can be purchased with crypto.

Blockchain confirmations may take a few minutes depending on network congestion. Once confirmed, the Claws are credited to your account automatically.

Setup fees are deducted from your existing Claws balance when you create a daily-billed instance. They are not a separate payment — you pay them by having enough Claws in your account.

Currency

All prices on ClawHosters are in EUR (Euro). Stripe processes card charges in EUR. For crypto payments, Coinbase Commerce handles the conversion from cryptocurrency to EUR at the current exchange rate.

Claws Packages

Claws are the prepaid credit currency for daily-billed instances. They are sold in fixed packages with volume bonuses:

The base exchange rate is 65 Claws per €1. Larger packages give bonus Claws on top of that rate.

Monthly Subscription Pricing

Monthly subscriptions are charged via Stripe at the start of each billing period:

Subscriptions renew automatically. You can cancel at any time, and the instance continues running until the end of the current billing period.

Payment Security

ClawHosters does not store credit card numbers or sensitive payment data. All card processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified — the highest level of payment security certification.

How your payments are protected:

• Card details stay with Stripe — You enter card information on Stripe's hosted checkout page, not on ClawHosters
• Duplicate payment prevention — Each transaction uses a unique identifier to prevent accidental double charges
• Webhook verification — Payment confirmations are cryptographically verified before Claws are credited
• Balance protection — Account balance updates use database-level locking to prevent race conditions

Payment Failures

Card payment declined

If a Stripe payment fails, no Claws are deducted and no charge is made. Common reasons include:

• Expired card
• Insufficient funds
• Bank declining the transaction (contact your bank)

You can retry immediately with the same or a different card.

Subscription payment failed

If a monthly subscription payment fails, Stripe retries the charge automatically over the following days. If all retry attempts fail, the subscription is cancelled and the instance is paused at the end of the current period.

Crypto payment not confirmed

Blockchain transactions can take longer during periods of high network activity. If a crypto payment does not appear within 30 minutes, check the transaction status on the blockchain explorer. Contact support if the payment is confirmed on-chain but Claws have not been credited.

Refunds

ClawHosters does not offer cash refunds for Claws purchases. However, if a deployment fails during instance creation, the setup fee is automatically refunded as Claws credits to your account.

For subscription billing, cancellation stops future charges but does not refund the current billing period. Your instance continues running until the period ends.

If you believe a charge was made in error, contact support with the transaction details.
