Study Buddy

2 min read Use Cases Last updated March 07, 2026

A Tutor in Your Pocket

OpenClaw makes a solid study companion. It can quiz you, summarize material, process lecture recordings, and send reminders to review what you've learned. All through the messaging app already on your phone.

What You Can Do

Interactive Q&A and flashcards. Ask your instance to quiz you on a topic. It generates questions based on your notes or any material you provide, checks your answers, and explains what you got wrong.

Lecture and textbook summarization. Paste a chapter or upload notes and get a concise summary of the key concepts. Useful when you need to review quickly before an exam or catch up on material you missed.

YouTube lecture processing. Send a link to a recorded lecture and your instance extracts the transcript, identifies the main points, and creates study notes. Saves hours of manual note-taking.

Spaced repetition reminders. Set up cron jobs to have your instance send review prompts at scheduled intervals. It can remind you to revisit material at increasing gaps, following spaced repetition principles for better retention.

Study planning. Ask your instance to help break down a syllabus into a study schedule. It can track what you've covered and suggest what to focus on next.

Always accessible. Your study buddy lives on Telegram or WhatsApp. Quiz yourself on the bus, review notes during lunch, or ask a clarification question at midnight.
